8. REAR GARDEN WITH DRY
STONE WALLING

Client - Mr and Mrs Mowbray

Location - Poole, Dorset.

Brief - A wildlife friendly garden. He wished to have a more English style garden while she preferred something more italianate. To incorporate a water feature and herb garden

Design and Installation - The existing garden already had a wildlife friendly feel to it, although slightly overgrown. Amongst the planting, there were several shrubs which we decided to retain and re-use in the new scheme.

The garden was split into two main levels. The lower level incorporated the Italianate feel with a circular box edged herb garden. In the centre, a spinning ball water feature was installed as a focal point.

A natural dry stone wall was constructed to retain the upper garden.

The retained shrubs were transplanted with the addition of a new lavender hedge along the top of the wall
