Design and Installation - Smooth softwood decking was installed. This creates a good surface for wheelchairs and it enabled the area to be raised flush with the threshold of the doorway. An area of natural sandstone was laid to add detail and to break up the expanse of decking. A pergola was erected over this area and painted the same black as the weatherboarding on the extension. Along the side of the extension, a ramp was constructed out of softwood decking. To make up the levels either side of the ramp, softwood sleepers were installed to make raised beds.

A combination of grasses and perennials were selected to provide a more natural softer look. The varieties chosen will provide all year interest with the perennials reaching their peak in late Summer.
