Design and Installation - A decked timber verandah was constructed from the house. A central deck area was created to disguise the inspection cover and to provide an entertaining area. A small paved sunken garden in the corner with a pergola provides a retreat. A woodland style garden was created where the view opens out the Colne Valley. Natural sandstone used in the main area is used again here to form a stepping stone path through the garden. Lots of architectural plants are used in the main area to provide maximum impact in a relatively small space. Bamboos, Hardy Banana, Cordyline, Tracycarpus and Magnolia will grow tall eventually giving excellent vertical impact. This style of planting is also fairly maintenance free. A quick tidy once a month will normally suffice. A small glacial boulder water feature seemingly blends with the scottish cobbles and pebbles that mulch the beds in the main garden.

In the woodland area with the stepping stone pathway, the plants are chosen to reflect a more natural style. Dogwood, Woodland Cranesbill, Wood Spurges and Snowdrops are some of the stars in this area.
